Today marks an important milestone in the history of SSP. We are pleased to announce that Specialty Silicone Products, Inc has been acquired by Miami, FL-based HEICO Corporation.
For the Management Team at SSP, this is a bittersweet occasion. We have worked for the former owners between 10-25 years. The founders fostered a customer focused environment with a family-friendly culture. The 70 SSP employees will be forever grateful to them for taking a risk and starting this company 29 years ago.
At the same time, we are excited by the countless opportunities a partnership with HEICO brings. They are a customer centric organization that strives for excellence in niche markets, primarily aerospace, defense, medical and electronics. The markets where HEICO is strong are strategic growth areas for SSP, while our capabilities and market strengths are of interest to our new parent company. HEICO has a long-term investment philosophy and is a committed partner on our quest for continued innovation and growth.
At this point you are probably asking, “What does this mean for me?” One of the greatest benefits of partnering with HEICO is that they have a track record of allowing an acquired company to operate independently and autonomously, as they always have. As a result, both SSP and HEICO expect business as usual going forward. The existing Management Team will remain in leadership positions at our Ballston Spa, NY location.
