EagleNXT recently tested its eBee VISION unmanned aircraft system under communications, navigation and radio-frequency conditions designed to simulate a contested electromagnetic environment.
According to a company announcement, the testing took place September 13–18 at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center in Michigan as part of a Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent and Limited (DDIL) testing event. Participating systems were evaluated under degraded communications, positioning, navigation, timing and RF conditions intended to represent operational battlefield environments.
EagleNXT used the event to evaluate newly developed anti-jamming technology integrated with its eBee VISION UAS. The company reported that the system performed well during the testing and said the technology is progressing toward production.
Testing unmanned systems under disrupted RF and navigation conditions reflects the increasing importance of electromagnetic resilience as UAS are deployed in environments where communications and GNSS signals may be degraded, interfered with or intentionally denied.
