The Model 284 NanoCoulomb Meter from Monroe Electronics directly measures electrostatic discharge on conductive, dissipative, or insulative objects. Model 284 is well suited to standards testing ESD packaging, populated PC boards, disk drive components, and other electronic devices. This is especially true for test methods that require charge measurements such as ANSI/ESD S541 and SEMI E78. This device measures charges on isolated conductors when used with a point contact probe (sold separately). It can also measure charges on all kinds of objects if the charged item is placed in a Faraday cup (sold separately as well). It is available in two measurement ranges—20 Nc and 200 Nc.
