A family of miniature TVS diodes from OnChip Devices provides high levels of ESD protection. The ESD2200 device safely dissipates ESD strikes of ±30 kV contact discharge, well beyond the maximum requirements of IEC 61000-4-2. It is offered in 2, 3, 4, or 5 channels. Despite the high level of ESD dissipated, the ESD2000 exhibits a relatively low input capacitance of under 20 pF. The diode capacitance also offers some EMI filtering when used in combination with a PCB trace or series resistor. Because of product design that increasingly relies on ICs with submicron geometries and low working voltages, portable devices such as mobile handsets. PC/notebooks, MP3 players, and PDAs, are particularly vulnerable to ESD damage. The ESD2200 offers clamp voltage as low as 10 V and virtually eliminates IC-latch-up and soft errors. Housed in miniature SOT23, SOT143, and SC70 packaging, these devices are well suited to space sensitive applications. Look for additional product information at the OnChip Devices
