The TClamp™ 3302N from Semtech, Inc. is a new ESD, cable discharge-, and lightning rated device for Ethernet systems. The 3302N is the latest addition to the TClamp™ product line. This new device provides telecom/datacom system designers a compact 3.3-V working voltage protection device rated for 100 A GR-1089 intra-building lightning surge. Utilizing the proprietary Enhanced Punch-through Diode (EPD) process technology, the TClamp line has been crafted especially to safeguard telecom equipment in such high growth applications as data center routers, digital surveillance cameras, WiMAX base stations, and triple-play ONTs. Special features of the 3302N include a very small, 2.6 x 2.6 x 0.6-mm, 10-pin SLP package, low leakage currents, and clamping voltages, ease of use in differential or common-mode layout, minimal low capacitance, and RoHS/WEEE compliance.
