Semiconductor supplier Semtech Corp.’s RClamp 2502L device is, according to the company, the first 2.5V (Vrwm) protection device in a SO-8 package for safeguarding Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces from electrostatic discharge, cable discharge and lightning surge transients. The two-line RClamp 2502L device delivers transient protection, featuring a low clamping voltage and a line-to-line capacitance of less than 5pF. The part’s robust (40A, tp=8/20μs) surge rating for secondary lightning protection meets the industry’s telecommunications surge requirements, making it appropriate for Ethernet-rich communication infrastructure applications.Learn more from Semtech Corp.
