Chomerics Europe introduced a new one component, form-in-place EMI gasketing material. CHO-FORM 5547 is designed for use in applications such as portable equipment, telecoms and military and marine products. It is useful in applications where assembly closure forces are low and can eliminate the need for fasteners or rigid housings. The new material utilizes nickel-plated silver (Ni/Ag) particles dispersed in a silicone binder to deliver shielding performance of greater than 70 dB (200 MHz to 10 GHz).
