San Diego-based Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a $12 million contract by the U.S. Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Agency. SAIC will provide support services for the Air Force Network Operations (AFNETOPS). The majority of the work is expected to take place at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana and will involve the management of next-generation warfare, cyber-defense, and attack operations. SAIC senior VP Larry Cox, stated, “We look forward to supporting AFNETOPS and the evolution of the Air Force network warfare operations mission to a cyber capability with integrated processes, procedures, data, and systems to support air, space, and electromagnetic spectrum operations.”View the original press release on the SAIC website.
