Ion Physics Corporation’s new current monitor is capable of measuring narrow current pulses of several hundred kA and AC currents up to 2,000 ARMS.
This IPC current monitor is a transformer with a one turn primary, internally terminated in a low inductance impedance network to convert the current signal to a voltage signal. This model has the designation CM-01-CS11 and has a sensitivity of 1 mV/A. It senses the magnetic field surrounding the primary current carrying cable or charged particle stream and thus requires no physical contact with the primary conductor, eliminating ground loops and interference noise.
