NexTek, Inc., a designer of lightning protection and EMC / power conditioning products and services, announces the expansion of the E-Class Series designed for optimizing RF performance at frequencies up to 6GHz. The E-Class Series sets new surge performance standards to 6GHz, provides bi-directional protection and is also characterized by passing DC without any performance degradation. This family of ultra-compact SurgeGuard™ lightning arrestors is specifically developed to meet the stringent demands of emerging RF applications including Ultra Wideband, Wi-Fi, WiMAX ground penetrating radar, surveillance, high speed communications systems, 5.0 – 6.0GHz UNII, MMDS, WLL, IMS bands, public safety 4.9GHz and HiperLAN.The ultra-compact SurgeGuard E-Class Series is based on a gas discharge tube design packaged in two small geometry form factors. The miniature arrestors measure only 42mm x 24mm, or 50mm x 24mm, and can deliver a maximum of 30W (48 dBm) of RF power at a maximum through-current of 10A.
