Schaffner pleased to announce the launch of the new IEC filter series FN9274. It was specially designed for medical applications.
The filter was designed according to Class II medical equipment standard IEC/EN 60601-1. The so-called Two MOPP requirement (Means of Patient Protection) is achieved “out of the box”.

Outside Connector:
The FN9274 filters use C18 inlet receptacles without an earth pin (according to IEC 60320). They are compatible with C17 V-Lock locking power cords to avoid accidental disconnection of power.
Versatile Configurations:
The new FN9274 inlet filter series is available in three mounting configurations, front panel mount, rear panel mount, and snap-in fit. There are also two termination styles available for each configuration, fast-on, and wire leads.

FN9274 series complements Schaffner’s existing portfolio of IEC filters, which have successfully served the medical industry for many years. All of our FN92xxB and FN92xxEB models add no leakage current to medical systems; thereby maintaining safety in critical environments.

Typical applications are medical devices used in intensive care environments and audio/video equipment.
Approvals:
All new filters are designed for a maximum continuous operating voltage of 250 VAC, 50/60 Hz, and for nominal currents up to 15 A. They have worldwide approvals in accordance with ENEC, CQC, UL, and CSA and meet the requirements for RoHS and REACH regulations.
