AirHop, a company that makes software to manage interference among cellular sites for 3G and 4G wireless networks, has proposed the use of miniature cell sites dedicated to individual businesses. These miniature cell sites would offload traffic from the larger cellular network because they’d be plugged into fiber, cable or DSL lines directly, and AirHop’s software would help manage the resulting interference problems.
