The ISL8201M from Intersil is a highly integrated power conversion module. It provides a high efficiency, low-noise DC/DC power solution in a thermally enhanced QFN package. Its onboard input filter supports low noise operation and reduced EMI. The small form factor of the ISL8201M conserves board space, and its integration of functions cuts procurement and placement costs in such applications as medical instrumentation, telecommunications, data communications, and wireless networks. It is housed in a 15 mm x 15 mm x 3.5 mm QFN package that has been crafted to offer optimum heat transfer and good thermal performance. A large copper plate under the package allows the device to a power density of approximately 200 W/in3, roughly four times that of conventional open-frame modules, thereby eliminating the need for heat sinks.Find more product information at the Intersil website.
