Gabriel Sanchez, of Advanced ElectroMagnetics, Inc. (AEMI), long active in the EMC community, died on Thursday, July 2, 2009. A pioneer in the field of EMC, he was a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona and had worked at Rantec. He cofounded AEMI in 1979 and grew that company until it was acquired by Orbit in 1997. Gabe stayed on at AEMI, which continued doing business under the AEMI name as an Orbit subsidiary. In 2005, he gave up his role in management to take up the work that was his real passion. As chief technical officer, he devoted himself to problem-solving for AEMI customers. Mass is scheduled for today at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church in Poway, CA. Interment will follow immediately at Dearborn Memorial Park Cemetery in Poway. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Jonathan, and daughter Amanda.
