New Customs Union Technical Regulations (CUTR) for machinery and equipment have been enacted, replacing the separate national requirements and conformity assessment procedures of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
According to the Russian Center of Certification, the new CUTR certificates are “in accordance” with updated regulations for the safety of low voltage equipment, electromagnetic compatibility and the safety of machines and industrial equipment.
Products entering each country will require a Customs Union Mark of Conformity —an EurAsian Conformity Mark—before being placed on the market. Earlier-issued GOST R certificates will be valid until March 15, 2015, after which the new EAC mark must be used.
