Mercury United, a manufacturer of frequency control products, has released a new spread spectrum crystal oscillator (SSXO) for electromagnetic interference reduction in various electronic products.
According to the company, the new oscillator is ideal for applications in printers, hand-held ID readers, medical devices, GPS navigation systems, scanners, projectors and modems. The new spread spectrum crystal oscillator is available in sizes of 3.2 x 2.5 x 1.0 mm, 5.0 x 3.2 x 1.2 mm and 5.0 x 7.0 x 1.4 mm and is capable of an approximate EMI reduction of -12 dB. The SSXO is RoHS-compliant and was showcased earlier this year at Electronica 2012 in Munich, Germany.
