Micronor has announced new safe fiber optic sensor products, the MR380 Fiber Optic Emergency Stop Switch (ESTOP) and the MR382 Fiber Optic U-Beam Sensor. These sensors were created for use in harsh environments such as oil rigs, mines, grain elevators, and more electromagnetic areas.
“The MR380 series Fiber Optic Emergency Stop offers ESTOP Functional Safety compliance with SIL1 rating. The MR382 series Fiber Optic U-Beam Sensor is a general purpose photo interruption/slot sensor. The products consist of a passive optical Sensor which connects to a DIN rail mount Controller Module via an industry standard OM1 duplex 62.5/125 multimode fiber optic link. The products can operate over distances up to 2500 meters (8200 feet),” according to the company.
Two beneficial features of the MR380 and MR382 include immunity to EMI, RFI and High Voltage arcs and a DIN rail mount controller module.
