Keysight Technologies announced its Method of Implementation (MOI) guide is available for USB 3.1 and USB Type-C connectors and cables assemblies for compliance testing. The MOI is a measurement guide of procedures and it simplifies compliance testing and setup.
The 10 Gbps USB 3.1 delivers more than double the data rate than the 5 Gbps USB 3.0. The new Type-C connector size is smaller than the Standard-A connector. The connector has 24 pins, symmetric form, and allows users to plug a cable in any way. Extra pins are available for power up to 100W.
“The increase in data rate and the new small connector result in even tougher requirements for the physical layer to ensure interoperability. The E5071C ENA Option TDR can achieve a complete characterization of time and frequency domain tests for USB 3.1 and USB Type-C connectors and cables assemblies,” according to Keysight.
