The F-55103-2-IP (injection probe) from Fischer Custom Communications is specially crafted for use in performing common mode immunity in balance video, data input, and control ports per EN 55103-2 Section 2-2. The test method described involves injecting the disturbance signal onto the common mode loop comprising the equipment under test and its earth connection. The injection probe inductively couples RF current onto the lines under test. It acts as a multiple-turn primary winding, and the lines under test act as a secondary winding. Because of the requirement for high efficiency audio bandwidth, the injection probe core must remain solid so the line under test is passed through the coupling aperture of the probe. Per specification requirements, the F-55103-2-IP is also equipped with an equalizer unit. The equalizer circuit has been crafted to preserve the accuracy of current/frequency characteristic with ±5 dB over the bandwidth. The F-55103-2-IP requires 100 V input between 50 Hz and 10 kHz to develop 22 milliamps into a dead short. The same input voltage will develop approximately 5 milliamps into a 600-ohm load. A standard AC source can be used as the generator for this test.Learn more at the Fischer Custom Communications website.
