Transtector Systems, part of Smiths Interconnect’s Protection Technology Group, has been awarded a $4.6 million contract from the US Air Force Global Strike Command. Transtector’s advanced SREMP ESA (Source Region Electromagnetic Pulse Electrical Surge Arrestor) hardened technology will be used to protect Minuteman Weapon Systems. Transtector’s Hayden, Idaho engineering labs have worked with the Air Force Global Strike Command via a three-year test program to develop the nuclear hardened panels required to meet project specifications. The purchase of the SREMP ESA Panels will provide the AFGSC (Air Force Global Strike Command) with a completely integrated electromagnetic pulse protection intended to work with its current systems. Surge protection devices designed, developed and manufactured by Transtector Systems are specifically used to protect electrical and communications systems in military vehicles, watercraft, aircraft and facilities.
