Heat-Shrinkable EMI Shield Up to 65 Percent Lighter than Traditional Material

Chomerics Europe, a global manufacturer of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials, has released the Cho-Shrink 1120, a heat shrinkable product that provides EMI shielding for cables, connectors and cable/connector terminations.

Made of polyolefin heat-shrinkable tubing coated with Chomerics’ silver-plated copper system, Cho-Shrink 1120 weighs approximately 40 to 65 percent less than traditional metal-braided cable shielding materials. It provides 50-60dB shielding effectiveness against EMI and protects against dust, moisture and other contaminants. Cho-Shrink 1120 complements the existing Cho-Shrink 1061 material and can be shrunk using conventional heating equipment.
