The FN 2200 range of filters from Schaffner reduces conducted emissions when used with photovoltaic solar energy inverters on the DC input side. Conducted emissions toward the solar panel are reduced along with the probability of EMI radiation from the solar panel, thus preventing premature panel aging caused by HF leakage currents. When used in conjunction with the appropriately sized EMC/EMI filters on the AC mains side, the filters help achieve compliance with the requirements of EN 61000 and other relevant EMC standards. The FN 2200 filters ensure minimum power loss of <0.0008 percent related to the rating of the inverter, thus maximizing overall system efficiency. They are available with ratings from 25 to 1500 amps at 55 degrees C and for voltages up to 1200 VDC. See the original product announcement on the Schaffner website.
