Palo Alto-based GigOptix, Inc. has announced that its contract with DARPA and SPAWAR PACIFIC has been extended by an additional $346,000. GigaOptix will fabricate low driving voltage, broadband Mach-Zehnder modulators for use in supercomputers. The firms proprietary polymer technology is employed in military applications because of its resistance to EMI, compact size, and low weight.See the official announcement online.
