Walter A. Poggi, president and CEO of EMC/EMI and environmental testing provider Retlif Testing Laboratories Inc., has received the Harold Wheeler Award for the significant contributions he has made to both the environmental testing industry and to the Long Island, N.Y. area during his 35 years as the head of Retlif.
Presented by the Long Island Section of IEEE, the Harold Wheeler Award is given to IEEE members who have demonstrated “outstanding technical and management abilities.”
“I am honored to receive the Harold Wheeler Award, which bears the name of such a world renowned engineer and a founding member of the IEEE Long Island Section,” Poggi said.
Poggi has previously served as president of the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL) and was instrumental in the development of the National Institute for Standards and Technology’s (NIST) first EMC laboratory accreditation program.
Poggi was also awarded iNARTE certification as a “Master EMC Design Engineer” late last year.
Headquartered in Ronkonkoma, N.Y., Retlif Testing Laboratories operates laboratories in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, as well as a regulatory office in Washington D.C.
