An apartment, Unit 4 at 2170 Jackson Street in San Francisco, Calif., is currently on the market for $8.6 million dollars. It’s reportedly a safe space for electrosensitives. “Electrosensitives” are people who have illnesses and attribute the cause to electromagnetic radiation emitted from electronic devices, such as phones, computers or wireless routers.
The apartment has three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms; however, that is not what electrosensitives are excited about. The apartment has been painted with thick coats of semi-conductive graphite paint to block electromagnetic fields. The apartment is also shielded with wire tape strips and every window is coated with an EMF-shielding polymer.
