Cardinal Components, Inc., a manufacturer of programmable oscillators, introduces the CACF series to counteract counterfeiting in the industry.
Cardinal demonstrated anti-counterfeit products, a three-part solution to the problem of counterfeit oscillators, at the SMTA, CALCE conference, June 26 to 28.
Cardinal’s solution is to embed protection in the device; use product level serialization; and use a DNA strain in the laser marking of products, which requires a hand-held low-cost spectrometer for product verification.
The CACF Series is factory configurable from 1 to 200 MHz, offered in industrial and military temperature range. The product is offered in 5 volt and 3.3 volt and packaging is offered in SMD 5 x 7, 5 x 3.2 mm and other industry standard packages as well as CMOS, LVDS and LVPECL outputs.
