Columbia, MD-based Advanced Programs, Inc. (API) has announced the purchase of BAE Systems’ TEMPEST products business for an undisclosed sum. The TEMPEST products business develops and produces custom-engineered computers, workstations, and peripherals that meet the National Security Agency’s TEMPEST standard for safeguarding data by limiting electromagnetic emissions from electronic equipment. It has approximately 40 employees at its design, engineering, and manufacturing operation in Tewksbury, MA. Steven Rice, president and CEO of API noted, “We are very pleased to expand our TEMPEST business and to add the impressive capabilities and expertise resident in Tewksbury to our own.
