Contact: Michael Proffitt mproffitte@acstestlab.comAdvanced Compliance Solutions, Inc. has acquired the FAU EMI Lab in the Research Park adjacent to the University in Boca Raton and is assuming operations of the lab immediately.
Atlanta, GA-based ACS focuses on regulatory compliance testing of commercial electronics products such as telecommunications and cable industry hardware, consumer electronics, and wireless devices. The lab provides testing and approvals such as the FCC, UL, and CE Mark necessary to legally place the products on the market. ACS also operates the Rubicom lab in Melbourne, FL specializing in testing for military, aerospace, and defense applications.Previously, an EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing lab for school research and as an educational tool of the university, the now privatized lab will offer commercial services similar to ACS in Atlanta. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.“We were looking to expand our business footprint geographically,” said ACS co-founder Michael Proffitt. “Locating in the south Florida technology corridor presented an excellent opportunity to meet our business objectives.”Proffitt anticipates that the new “ACS-Boca Raton” will provide additional opportunities for ACS to serve the market in the wireless and hardware development segments because of the synergies of the parent company coupled with the concentration of tech companies in the area. The new addition will contribute significantly to ACS’ goal of being the lab of choice in the southeastern United States.Advanced Compliance Solutions, Inc. 5015 B.U.
