University Facility Designed for Minimal Electromagnetic Interference

The new Physical Sciences Complex under construction at the University of Maryland requires very low electromagnetic interference due to the complexity of the advanced research in the fields of laser physics, quantum physics, biophysics and condensed physics. Therefore, the new building has its heating, water and elevator control centers housed away from its laboratories in order to reduce generation of electromagnetic interference.
