As electronic toys prove more popular, toy manufacturers stand to benefit from the testing of their E-toys to ensure regulatory compliance in a number of areas including electromagnetic compatibility testing, according to the SGS Group. Radio & Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (R&TTE) Directive, electromagnetic compatibility testing and various kinds of electrical safety tests, along with the RoHS directive, will usually be applicable to e-toys regardless of their origin. In the U.S., e-toys are subject to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA). The regulation applicable to the European market is the recently introduced European Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC. Learn more from Industrial Newsroom.
