New Ferrite Bead Melds High Current Capacity, Noise Suppression, & Low DC Resistance

The BLM18KG is the latest addition to Murata Electronics BLM Series. Compared to conventional 0603 power beads, the BLM18KG can manage 1.5 to 2 times the rated current and is capable of handling up to 6 amps. These 0603 sized ferrite beads can offer comparable performance to larger more expensive 0805 and 1206 power and wire-wound beads. Another benefit is its DC resistance that enables a low voltage drop resulting in lower power consumption. The DC resistance of the new BLM18KG is approximately 50 percent lower than that of conventional ferrite beads, an energy savings that facilitates longer battery life.
