The management boards of TÜV Rheinland and TÜV SÜD have withdrawn their merger application from Germany’s Federal Cartel Office. Company officials have determined that the initial proposal would not have met current anti-trust requirements in Germany. Both companies plan to reapply for a merger with a new business solution that meets Germany’s strict anti-trust requirements. According to Stephan Schmitt, TUV Rheinland of North America’s President and CEO, “Both companies feel very strongly that a merger is a good decision, which would have a positive impact on our operations right here in North America. Combining our North American operations would further expand our resources and would improve our competitive stance. Our companies have made so much progress in the path toward a merger; we are confident a solution can be created for a successful application.” The announcement was posted online in both Germanand English.Whatever the scale of EMC testing you’re involved with, remember that questions can be posted 24/7 to the Interference Technology Testing Forum.
