The ACT 14.448, issued by ANATEL on December 4th, 2017 had established, as from April 2, 2018, the enforcement of tests of radiated emissions and immunity to irradiated radio-frequency disturbances for the technical compliance of “Restricted Radiation Equipment” and, among it, the “Restrict Radiation Transceivers”, according to the EMC technical requirements of ACT 952.
The new regulations provide for testing requirements for Restricted Radiation Equipment with the verification of Emission and Radiated Electromagnetic Immunity of products considering limits for Classes A and B equipment, determined by act 1120/2018.
The previous regulation- Resolution 506/2008- only required the tests of conducted form in the products, consequently the effects of the electrical radio spectrum caused by product were not verified, as well as the immunity of the device to environment emissions.
However, due to disagreements over the testing methodologies in devices with multiple technologies and frequencies, ANATEL has recently issued on March 27, 2018 the new ACT 2311, which postpones for three months the application of these new tests, coming into force only in July 2018.
Anatel, OCDs and laboratories are working to reach a common agreement, order to finally put into practice the new rules.
