(April 26, 2016) Electric motors are not just for automobiles. Siemens and Airbus plan to jointly develop prototypes for an E-plane.

According to Siemens’ website, the prototypes for various propulsion systems will be “for short, local trips with aircraft below 100 seats, [and] helicopters or UAVs up to classic short and medium-range journeys.”

“In the field of Ultra Light, Siemens [will] work with Magnus Aircraft, an Hungarian company,” said their website.
