Last Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens experienced headset issues during their game against the Miami Dolphins.
All football quarterbacks wear helmets with radio signal transmitters inside to allow them to receive play calls from their coaches. Last week, communication issues in quarterback Joe Flacco’s helmet caused him to run back and forth to the sidelines after every play to ask the offensive coordinator for play calls.
“It was crackling the whole time. We couldn’t get our plays in and we couldn’t hear from the press box. Finally we had Gary on a wire in the second half, which made his communication better, but it was really no better back to Joe. We were old-schooling it. We were running plays out there and shuttling plays with players back and forth. It was a challenge,” Head Coach John Harbaugh, said.
Coach Harbaugh also noted the Ravens have experienced radio interference issues with their helmets for years during games in Miami.
Despite the interference issues, the Ravens won 28 – 13.
