A new high performance QFN socket for 0.5mm pitch has just been introduced by Ironwood Electronics.
“The CG-QFN-7009 sockets are constructed with high performance and low inductance elastomer contactor. The pin self inductance is 0.11 nH and mutual inductance of 0.028 nH. Capacitance to ground is 0.028 pF. Current capacity is 2 amps per pin,” according to the company.
The CG-QFN-7009 operates in temperatures ranging from -35 to +100 degrees Celsius, operates at bandwidths up to 10 GHz, has a low insertion loss of less than 1dB, and uses the smallest footprint in the industry. It also includes a spring loaded snap lid that is easy to open; the force of the spring can be adjusted.
