Heilind Electronics, a North American distributor of interconnect products, has launched operations in Asia. Heilind Electronics Asia is headquartered in Hong Kong, with additional offices in Suzhou, China, Dongguan City, China and Singapore.
“China is, of course, the fastest-growing major economy in the world. And now, with multiple offices, a distribution center, and a terrific team of industry professionals in place, Heilind is well positioned to take advantage of this growth,” Martin Kent, president of European and Asia-Pacific operations for Heilind, said.
“This day has been years in the making and would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the entire Heilind team,” Robert W. Clapp, president and founder of Heilind Electronics, said. “I also want to acknowledge the strong support we received in this effort from our suppliers [and] … our valued customers.”
William Sim will serve as president for Heilind’s operations in Asia. Sim brings more than 30 years of industry experience with the company.
Products from 17 different companies will be available through Heilind Asia on opening day. Heilind will continue to increase the availability of different products in Asia as franchise agreements are established.
