A French court has granted Marine Richard, a woman who claims she is ‘allergic to Wi-Fi,’ £500 a month (about $764 U.S. dollars) in disability allowance.
Richards claims she suffers from electromagnetic sensitivity and that exposure to Wi-Fi, mobile phones and televisions cause her extreme pain. According to Richard’s lawyers, she has been living away from society in a barn in the countryside to remain free of exposure.
“French courts have refused so far to pay disability benefits to people who suffer from electromagnetic sensitivity, so after winning the case, Marine Richard said that her win was a ‘breakthrough,’” the Telegraph Reported.
Richard’s lawyer told the times that “her win set a legal precedent for thousands of people.”
