Linear Technology announces the LT3790, a “synchronous buck-boost DC/DC controller that delivers up to 250W of power with a single IC.” The LT3790EFE is ideal for industrial and automotive applications and operates well as a battery charger and voltage regulator. This product is also available in two other versions: an extended temperature version (LT3790IFE), and a high temperature version (LT3790HFE).
“Output current accuracy of ±6% ensures precise current regulation while ±2% output voltage accuracy offers a precise output voltage, making it ideal for charging applications,” according to the company.
Other features of the LT3790 include synchronous switching with an 98.5 percent efficiency, a wide input range of 4.7V to 60V, ability to deliver up to 250W of output power, input and output current monitors, integrated fault protection, and more.
