Semiconductor company ProTek Devices has released a new business line of individual unpackaged die available in wafer form for LED lighting manufacturers. The die in wafer form are available as unidirectional and bidirectional electrostatic discharge protection diodes.
ProTek Devices’ new business line of die available in wafer form for LED lighting applications consists of the unidirectional PLED508U and PLED511U as well as the bidirectional PLED508 and PLED511. All models support LED lighting voltage at 5V. The company reports that other voltages will be introduced soon.
The unidirectional PLED508U measures 6.5 x 6.5 mils while the unidirectional PLED511U measures 10.5 x 10.5 mils excluding scribe area. The maximum leakage current is 0.5 microampere for the PLED511U and 0.1 microampere for the PLED508U; capacitance is 80pF for both. The bidirectional PLED508 measures 7 x 7 mils while the bidirectional PLED511 measures 9.5 x 9.5 excluding scribe area. Both bidirectional components exhibit a maximum leakage current of 1 microampere and a capacitance of 15pF.
