U.S. Air Force Researchers are looking to implement a program to upgrade radar and electronic warfare technology with new hardware, software and algorithms designed to improve the simultaneous detection and identification of multiple targets, tracking and imaging within challenging RF environments.
In a presolicitation notice, the Department of the Air Force announced that a BAA solicitation requesting proposals for the Contested Environment Radio Frequency Exploitation and Research (CERFER) program will be released between late September and late October 2013.
The program will select a proposal to develop models, hardware, software, algorithms and techniques spanning basic, applied and advanced research for both active and passive sensing. The program is anticipated to run from 2014-2018; funding provided will be about $48 million.
