Semiconductor company ProTek Devices has introduced a new series of transient voltage suppressor (TVS) arrays for circuit protection in applications such as smartphones and other portable electronics, USB interfaces and Ethernet 10/100/1000 base T.
The new GBLCxxCDN series includes five ultra-low capacitance (3pF typical), low leakage current TVS arrays. The five devices and their rated stand-off voltages that make up the series are: the GBLC05CDN at 5.0 volts; the GBLC08CDN at 8.0 volts; the GBLC12CDN at 12.0 volts; the GBLC15CDN at 15.0 volts; and the GBLC24CDN at 24.0 volts.
Available in a bidirectional configuration, the GBLCxxCDN series is rated at 350W for an 8/20 micro amps waveshape and provides electrostatic discharge protection of > 25kV and a low clamping voltage.
The series is RoHS and REACH compliant and compatible with IEC standard 61000-4-2 for electrostatic discharge (ESD): air – 15kV, contact – 8kV. It exceeds level four of the standard by handling a 25kV air discharge and 10kV contact. It is also compatible with IEC standards 61000-4-4 for electrical fast transients (EFT): 40A – 5/50ns and 61000-4-5 (surge) and features a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The TVS arrays are available in a molded JEDEC DFN-2 package with lead-free pure-tin plating.
