Tektronix is among several other brand names that will split from Danaher Corp. and fall under a new owner; Fortive Corp.
Danaher Corp., which acquired Tektronix in 2007 announced it would split in two. Danaher will keep the highest growth businesses and Fortive will take on the more mature instrumentation businesses.
Other companies in the split include Fluke, Qualitrol, Gilbarco, Veeder-Root, Kollmorgan, and Mattco Tools. All total, the businesses include about 20,000 employees and had $6.3 billion in revenue last year.
Fortive’s headquarters will be in Everett, Washington, current home of Fluke. Jim Lico, VP of Danaher, will run the new company as CEO.
