IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Standards Board has approved two standards. IEEE 1511.1 is a guide for investigating and analyzing shielded power cable failures on systems rated 5 kV through 46 kV, and provides an introduction to the concepts of failure analysis. Common methods are described and how they can be applied in determining the cause of failure for the components used in the construction of an underground power cable system. IEEE 1775 is a standard for Powerline Communication Equipment – Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Requirements – Testing and Measurement Methods, which provides test and measurement guidance and EMC criteria for BPL equipment and installations.Learn more about IEEE 1511.1 from IEEE.Learn more about IEEE 1775 from IEEE.
