The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a monetary forfeiture order in the amount of $1,500 to Dale Lloyd Allred of Tunnel Hill, GA. Allred was fined for willful and repeated violations of Sections 301 and 333 of the Communications Act of 1934 as amended. Earlier this year, the FCC’s Atlanta office received complaints about interference to school bus radios operated by Dalton Communications and monitored the frequency at issue, 157.5675 MHz. The interfering signal was traced to the offices of Tri-County Communications, where Allred is CEO. He admitted to investigators that he intentionally operated a transmitter at 157.5675 MHz to cause the interference. He explained that he was interfering with Dalton Communications’ transmissions because that firm had taken away the school bus contract from his company. The fine must be paid within 30 days or the matter will be turned over to the Department of Justice.Find further details at the FCC website.
