Pasternack Enterprises, a global supplier of RF and microwave products, has released a new line of SMP and mini-SMP adapters for use in “test systems with SMA, 2.92mm or 2.4mm test ports that must interface with a mini-SMP- or SMP-equipped Device Under Test (DUT), . . . millimeter wave systems that require a blind-mate interface for SMA, 2.92mm or 2.4mm connectors and fiber systems requiring broad bandwidth interface to an RF system.”
According to the company, frequency ratings for the new adaptors are constructed from passivated stainless steel and range in frequency from 18 GHz to 65 GHz, depending on type and style. The adaptors are capable of converting “multiple connector types, including SMP, mini-SMP, SMA, 2.92mm, 2.4mm, 3.5mm and 1.85mm connectors.”
“High-density applications require ‘small-footprint’ connectors, which make the SMP and mini-SMP connectors an excellent choice for co-locating many RF connectors,” Gerry Camacho, vice president of technical marketing at Pasternack Enterprises, said. “SMP and mini-SMP connectors are becoming the connector of choice for broadband fiber optic applications as interfaces for broadband RF systems.”
