The Robert J. Collier Trophy, aviation’s most prestigious award, was presented June 12, 2008 to the Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) Team. RTCA was recognized as one of many organizations that are playing a key role in bringing this important new operational capability to reality.RTCA’s initial ADS-B recommendations were made in 1995 and RTCA Special Committee 186 issued its first ADS-B document in 1998. We currently offer 17 documents centered on this new capability. The aviation community, working via Special Committee 186, is continuing to refine and expand ADS-B applications.Learn more at the RTCAweb site.
