ProTek Devices, a provider of overvoltage protection and overcurrent protection components, has released a new family of overcurrent electronics chip fuses for the protection of consumer electronics, computers and telecommunications equipment from the risk of fire or shock caused by overcurrents.
A variety of types and sizes are available as part of the new surface mount device (SMD) overcurrent chip fuses, the company said.
The 0603 package includes PF0603F, a fast-acting chip fuse; PF0603S, a slow-blow chip fuse; and PF0603H, a high inrush chip fuse. The 0603 package is ideal for LCD TVs, digital cameras, DVD and Blu-ray players, camcorders and game consoles, power-over-Ethernet, hard drives and other consumer devices.
The 1206 package includes PF1206F, a fast-acting chip fuse; PF1206S, a slow-blow chip fuse; and PF1206H, a high inrush chip fuse. The 1206 package is ideal for smartphones, DVD and Blu-ray players, game consoles and digital music players, GPS devices, audio systems, switching power supplies and chargers, scanners, telecom infrastructure equipment and DSL/cable modems.
All devices are halogen-free, available in ceramic/glass packages and are RoHS- and REACH-compliant.
“For decades we’ve been a leader in providing advanced and cost-effective overvoltage circuit protection solutions, and our customers have also been asking us about overcurrent protection solutions,” Rocky Kansal, president of ProTek Devices, said. “We’ve now addressed our customer’s requests with these fast-acting, slow blow and high inrush chip fuses. So, we are now offering a single source for EDMs to procure all their overvoltage and overcurrent circuit protection components. We’ll continue to expand and innovate this chip fuse line too.”
