Northrop Grumman, a well-known name in aviation and defense, recently announced structural changes intended to improve performance and growth potential and to enhance cost competitiveness. Instead of seven key sectors, the newly aligned corporate structure has five as the company’s Integrated Systems sector and its Space Technology sector have been combined into the new Aerospace sector. (The other five are Electronic Systems, Information Systems, Shipbuilding, and Technical Services.) This merger has created a new Aerospace Systems sector, an approximately $10 billion business, with 24,000 employees. See the original announcement on the Northrop Grumman website.
