EM Test now offers a four-quadrant, bi-polar voltage drop simulator – the VDS 200Q Series.
The amplifier can “source and sink current using a programmed voltage in both positive and negative polarities. The amplifier generates dips and drops, short interruptions and voltage variations to simulate a wide range of phenomena occurring on a vehicle wiring harness,” according to the company.
The amplifier has a low impedance of less than 10 mΩ and a high bandwidth of 150 kHz. It offers a QuickStart feature and supports low voltage drops, inrush current and fast recovery.
The VDS 200Q Series can operate from -15 V to +60 V. Because of its high power and ability to support multiple battery simulation waveforms, it is suitable for avionics, automotive, and military, industries as well as testing environments. This amplifier is used for automotive testing by Audi, BMW, ISO, Mercedes-Benz, SAE, VW, and more, according to EM Test.
